NUKE SYSTEM

Epoch-based voting to eliminate rival nations

Nuke Epochs

Nukes operate on a 2-day epoch cycle. Each epoch has a 24-hour voting window during which the top entity (a single country or the top alliance by combined staking power) can vote on which country to nuke.

Who Can Launch?

The nuke-launch privilege goes to whichever has the highest staking power: the top single country or the top alliance (by combined member staking power).

  • Single country: The president votes for the target
  • Alliance: Members vote weighted by their country's staking power. Over 50% weight needed for consensus on a target

Consequences

When a nuke executes, all staked NWARS plus any unclaimed pending rewardsare seized from the target country's vault. The accumulated reward pool is reset to zero. The country is fully eliminated.

Staking Lock During Voting

To prevent last-second manipulation, deposits and withdrawals are automatically locked starting 1 hour before the voting window opens and remain locked throughout the voting, executing, and waiting-for-VRF phases. Staking resumes as soon as the round reaches Completed or VRFFailed status.

The UI displays a banner and disables deposit/withdraw buttons when the lock is active.

Nuke Immunity

  • Newly created countries have a grace period before they can be targeted
  • Revived countries receive a 10-epoch grace period of immunity
  • Countries cannot nuke themselves or their alliance members

Revival

Nuked countries can be revived by burning NWARS tokens. Revival re-enables the country's vault for staking and grants a 10-epoch grace period of nuke immunity. This is an opportunity for early stakers to build power at the ground floor.
