STAKING

Build influence by depositing NWARS into country vaults

Country Vaults

Each country has a staking vault managed by the CountryTrading contract. Players deposit NWARS (NationWars Token) into country vaults to build staking power and compete for influence. A fee applies on deposits and withdrawals — the default rate is shared across all countries, but governance can set a per-country fee override via a setCountryFee proposal.

📥 Deposit NWARS

  • Approve NWARS for the CountryTrading contract
  • Deposit any amount into a country vault
  • Increases the country's staking power
  • Optional referrer address for fee sharing

📤 Withdraw NWARS

  • Withdraw staked NWARS at any time
  • Reduces the country's staking power
  • A fee applies on withdrawal

Staking Lock During Voting

Deposits and withdrawals are automatically disabled 1 hour before each nuke voting window and stay locked until the round reaches Completed or VRFFailed status. The UI shows a warning banner and disables the deposit/withdraw buttons during this period.

Nuke Redistribution Rewards

When a nuke executes, 75% of the seized NWARS is redistributed as staking rewards to the recipient countries (50% to the nuke launcher, 25% to a random country via Chainlink VRF). These rewards accrue per-share inside the country vault and can be claimed at any time.

Claim Fee

Claiming rewards requires a small ETH fee equal to 15% of the pending NWARS reward value, calculated via oracle TWAP. The exact ETH amount is displayed in the UI before you confirm. The fee is sent to the protocol treasury wallet. Any excess ETH sent is refunded automatically.

Staking Power

  • A country's staking power is determined by total NWARS deposited
  • Higher staking power means higher ranking in the leaderboard
  • The top country (or top alliance by combined power) can launch nukes
  • Staking power directly determines influence in the game

Presidency Impact

Your deposited NWARS balance determines your rank within a country. The top staker becomes the country's president, gaining alliance and governance powers.

Strategy Tips

  • Concentrate your NWARS in fewer countries for stronger influence
  • Spread NWARS across multiple countries to diversify risk from nukes
  • Build alliances with other strong countries to combine staking power
  • Watch the nuke cycle — withdraw from targeted countries before elimination
